MATKINS, John - Putnam

John Matkins, Paragon, formerly of Putnam County passed Saturday evening following a heart attack.  Mr. Matkins was born in Putnam County Dec 28, 1888 the son of Isaac and Mary Mace Matkins. He was a carpenter and fur buyer in his early life and a member of the Spencer Baptist Church.  Survivors are the widow, Stella Anderson Smith Matkins; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Marlin, Indianapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Siner, Reelsville; Mrs. Violet Isabel Carpenter and Miss Carrie Matkins, Kokomo; one brother, WP Matkins, Gosport..  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. from the West & Son Funeral  Home in Spencer. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery in Spencer.
